Learn why they bought. Leave their details in Shopify.

Post Purchase Surveys puts a short survey on your Thank you page. Each answer reaches you linked to its order, with emails and phone numbers removed, and names too when buyers introduce themselves.

Works with the Shopify checkout editor. No theme code.

Set up in the time it takes to pack an order.

No code and no theme edits. The survey lives in Shopify’s own checkout editor.

  1. Install the app

Add Post Purchase Surveys from the Shopify App Store. It asks for access to orders only.

  2. Write your questions

Start from “How did you hear about us?”, a rating, NPS or an open question. Up to five questions.

  3. Add the survey block

Place it on your Thank you page and Order status page in the checkout editor.

  4. Read the answers

See each answer’s share, revenue and average order value. Order tags go to Flow and Klaviyo.

See which answers bring in the revenue.

Every answer is matched with its order total, so you can compare channels by what they earn, not only by how often buyers pick them.

Tags on every order

Give each option a tag. Use it in Shopify Flow, Klaviyo segments or order filters.

Themes, not transcripts Coming soon

Written answers will be grouped into themes, such as “shipping cost” or “sizing”, with a count for each.

A note every week Coming soon

A short email will tell you what changed, and each number will show how many answers it comes from.

We keep the order number. Shopify keeps the customer.

Your survey does not need to know who your buyers are. When you want to reach one, open the order in Shopify.

  • We keepThe Shopify order ID
  • We keepThe answers, with personal details removed
  • We keepThe order total, for revenue and AOV
  • NeverNames, emails and phone numbers
  • NeverAddresses, or IP addresses with answers
  • NeverThe products in the order

Removed before it is saved

Buyers sometimes type their email, phone number or name into an answer. We replace emails and phone numbers with [email] and [phone], and names after phrases like “I’m” with [name], before the answer is stored.

You choose how long answers stay

After this time, answers become daily totals and the originals are deleted. Your charts keep all history.

  • 30 days
  • 60 days
  • 90 days

We don’t call it anonymous

Answers link to an order, so you can find the buyer in Shopify. A note under each text box asks buyers not to type their name, email or phone.

Questions merchants ask

Does it work with the new Thank you page?

Yes. The survey is a checkout block for the Thank you page and the Order status page. You add it in Shopify’s checkout editor, with no theme code.

Is the survey anonymous?

No, and we don’t say it is. Each answer links to its order number, so you can find the buyer in Shopify. The app itself never stores names, emails, phone numbers or addresses.

What happens to written answers?

Emails, phone numbers and introduced names are removed before an answer is saved. After your retention period, the text is deleted and Insights keeps the count. Grouping written answers into themes is coming soon.

Can I use the answers in Klaviyo or Shopify Flow?

Yes. Give an option a tag, such as “pps-tiktok”, and the app adds it to the order. Use the tag in Shopify Flow, Klaviyo segments or order filters.

Does the AI read my customers’ answers?

The app has no AI features yet. Ask AI and the weekly note are coming soon, and they will read totals and themes only. Groups of fewer than 3 answers will be left out, so the AI never sees one customer on their own.

Which permissions does the app ask for?

Read and write access to orders, to read the order total and add tags. The app does not ask for access to customer records.

Your next order could tell you where it came from.

Install the app, add the block, and read the first answers today.
